Estimate your moving cost
Use this tool for a quick ballpark before you call. Tell it your home size and the kind of move you’re planning and it’ll give you a rough range to work from. It’s a starting point — not your final number.
How we get to your real price
Once you’re ready, we turn that ballpark into a binding flat rate written before we load. We base it on your actual home, your inventory and the access at both ends — the stairs, the gravel lane, the elevator, the long carry. For local jobs we work at $135/hr for two movers and a truck or $185/hr for three, with a one-hour minimum, fully equipped with blankets, dollies and shrink-wrap.
What the calculator can’t see
- Steep drives, long country lanes and tricky parking
- Specialty pieces like a piano or a gun safe
- Packing, and whether you want us to unpack on the other end
- Storage between closings that don’t line up
That’s why the honest number comes from a quick conversation with our office. Run the estimator, then get my free moving quote and we’ll lock your flat rate in writing.
Read these as a rough ballpark only. Your real flat rate comes down to your actual inventory, the lanes, steps and access at both ends, and the miles on the truck — a Shepherdstown apartment and a farmhouse on acreage sit in very different spots. For a firm figure in writing, send your details and our Lawrence & Family Movers family office will turn it around fast, usually inside the hour on weekdays.
