Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website and the moving services of Lawrence & Family Movers, a family-owned moving company based in Martinsburg, West Virginia. By using our website or booking a move with us, you agree to these Terms.
Quotes and pricing
Quotes are based on the information you provide about your home, your inventory, access conditions and your move date. We provide a binding flat rate in writing before we load. If the actual move materially differs from what you described — for example, significantly more items, added stops, or access not disclosed at quoting — we will discuss any adjustment with you before proceeding. Hourly work, where applicable, is billed at our published rates with a one-hour minimum.
Booking and deposits
A deposit may be required to reserve your date. Any deposit is applied to your final balance. Cancellation and rescheduling terms will be provided with your written quote; please contact our office as early as possible if your plans change.
Our services and your responsibilities
We move household and office goods using our own trucks and our own employed, background-checked crew. You agree to provide accurate information, to ensure safe and legal access at both locations, and to remove or disclose hazardous materials, perishables and items we are not able to transport. Certain items of extraordinary value should be declared in advance.
Liability and valuation coverage
Your shipment is covered under released-value protection at $0.60 per pound per article at no additional charge, unless you elect full-value protection. Claims must be submitted in writing within the time period required by applicable law and our published claims policy. Our liability is governed by the valuation option you select and by applicable state and federal regulations.
Licensing and authority
Lawrence & Family Movers is a licensed and insured West Virginia moving company holding WV moving authority and US DOT and MC authority for interstate moves. We operate our own equipment and personnel and are not a broker or carrier-matching service.
Payment
Payment is due on completion of your move unless other arrangements are made in writing in advance. Accepted payment methods are provided with your quote.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of any move is limited to the valuation coverage you selected. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of West Virginia. Any dispute will be handled in the appropriate courts of West Virginia.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
